Former Miss USA Rima Fakih Slaiby on the occasion of Mother’s Day co-hosted the 5th annual Best Buddies Celebration of Mothers in Malibu, California with American actress Vivica A. Fox, and singer and actress Brandy Rayana Norwood – Variety reported.
The trio performed at the event, which raised $450K to benefit the nonprofit organization.
Close concerns of the music and management company SALXCO also gathered to support Fakih in her efforts to raise money for Best Buddies International.
Best Buddies International is an American nonprofit 501 organization that encompasses volunteers who strive to create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through one-on-one friendships, leadership training, jobs, and much more.
Fakih who is the wife of SALXCO founder Wassim Slaiby is also the director of philanthropy at SALXCO, and the talent relations board member at Best Buddies International.
After the performance, Brandy pledged $50,000 to support Best Buddies International. Best Buddies global ambassador Joshua Felder was recognized with the inaugural Excellence in Leadership Award.
The attendees of the event included notable names from the film industry Radha Mitchell, Ashley Greene, Greg Germann, Randall Park, Greg Fitzsimmons, Keely Shaye Smith, Sara Rue, Crystal Minkoff, Lana Parrilla, Maureen McCormick, and Charlotte McKinney among others.
The event was sponsored by Live Nation, ABC Disney, Spotify, YouTube, and the Wasserman Foundation.
SALXCO houses a number of renowned artists including The Weeknd, Bebe Rexha, M.I.A., Shenseea, Brandy, Ali Gatie, Swedish House Mafia, and many more.
